Considering just number of species, the Alkali Sink plant community was unexpectedly well-represented in our collecting sites, which contained ca. 70% of the 39 “Alkali Sink” species listed in CalFlora. The Chenopodiaceae (Goosefoot Family) was particularly well-represented.
